The vision for New Life began on January 26, 1994 with a small bible study group organized by Pastor Murray in his home.  The Lord had given him a vision to reach out to the world to share the Good News with those who desperately needed it.

On February 16 of that same year, Pastor Murray formally organized the New Life Missionary Baptist Church.  Leading the helm of the ministry, he along with his sons and another family of 3 met for the first time to worship as a new body of Christ.  Sunday worship services soon began thereafter, with a small handful of people who believed in the power of a changed life and the ministry of Thomas Murray.

In December 1995, the Lord opened the door for the church to purchase 3 acres of land on W. Fuqua, which was the original site of the New Life Church.  Our pastor envisioned a beautiful sanctuary occupying that land.  During 1996 and 1997, New Life grew both spiritually and numerically.  New Life began to be known and recognized in the community as a place of love, faith and a great worship service.  By the fall of 1997, ground had been broken for the new building project that would be New Life.

In January 1998, the first services were held at the 7900 W. Fuqua location and the membership tripled, ministries evolved and programs expanded.

Seeing that the church could take advantage of a new location and new facilities, in late 2008, the visionary Pastor Murray and the congregation stretched their faith.  A new plot of land was purchased and began to be built upon as the new and current home of New Life Church located at 6400 W. Fuqua. Once again, our ability to service the needs of our community has grown, our ministries continue to take on new vitality and our programs are better than ever.

From 6 people in a living room to a state of the art worship facility seating 600, New Life has certainly grown.  The focus remains on teaching, creating disciples, worshipping and evangelizing to our community.  We know that the best days are still in front of us and with God and all the great families connecting with this church, our potential is limitless.
